On Tuesday, January 21st, despite dire weather reports of heavy snow and fierce winds, several hearty soles braved the elements to attend VACOLAO’s Immigrant Advocacy Day and meet with our elected state representatives to advocate for several bills that favor the rights of immigrants residing in the Commonwealth. VACOLAO is planning a second advocacy day in the near future and hopes many who were unable to attend today’s event due to the inclement weather will be able to participate. VACOLAO will also be organizing other advocacy opportunities for those who cannot attend including urgent actions and assisting public committee hearings. We must keep up the pressure to make Virginia a place that welcomes all of its residents. We thank Virginia Interfaith for Public Policy for organizing The Day for All People and all those who attended.
