Dear All,
The Virginia Coalition for Immigrant Rights (VACIR) is organizing public participation at an upcoming Town Hall Meeting with Congressman Bob Goodlatte.
As you know, last Thursday, the Senate passed immigration reform bill S744 ( Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013) with broad bipartisan support marking a huge first step towards fixing our broken immigration system. The push for reform now moves to the House where reform legislation will face a tougher road to passage. Now is the time to let our House Representatives know that we support immigration reform! Tomorrow night in Lynchburg is a perfect time to do so.
Tomorrow, July 2, 2013, Congressman Bob Goodlatte will host a Town Hall Meeting for constituents of the Sixth Congressional District at the Lynchburg Public Library at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. See event details below.
WHAT: Lynchburg Town Hall Meeting
WHEN: Tuesday, July 2 from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Lynchburg Public Library 2315 Memorial Avenue Lynchburg, VA 24501
We need to pack the room with immigration reform supporters. Please consider attending and/or forwarding this email to your contacts who also might be interested. We are particularly interested in large numbers of reform supporters from the Sixth Congressional District.
This is a historic moment in our country where we have the opportunity to pass legislation that will improve the lives of millions of individuals and families. Now is the time to act.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Emily Riehl[email protected]
Un cordial saludo,
