WHAT: Due to the snowy weather last week, several advocates did not have the chance to travel to Richmond, VACOLA is pleased to announce its Snow Day Make up where Immigrant Advocates will travel to Richmond to advocate for immigrant rights. We still have the chance to advocate for the Virginia Equity Tuition (Virginia Dream Act) in the House of Delegates that would expressly authorize Virginia DACA holders to obtain in-state tuition, combat “notario” fraud and legislation that would implement the Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act in Virginia. WHEN: Friday, January 31, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We will provide transportation leaving from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2700 S. 19th Street, Arlington, VA 22204 at 6:15am that morning.
