April 5th National Day of Action: Large March and Rally “Not One More Deportation!” 2million 2many

March with us from Mt. Pleasant Park to Lafayette Park in front of the White House

In light of the congressional inaction in the House for permanent reform, we will call upon President Obama to ameliorate the costs of our broken immigration system and provide relief from the current human rights crisis stemming from deportations that devastate our families.

Specifically, we will call upon the President to halt the deportations of aspiring citizens, many with families, that are soon expected to reach the horrific two million removals milestone since he took office. Our families cannot wait for Congress to provide relief and the President shouldn’t either. Instead he should use his executive authority to stop the suffering by suspending deportations immediately and seek to expand the deferred action program he created for immigrant youth to all qualifying immigrants.

WHEN:  Saturday, April 5th 2014. March will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the rally will be at 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: We will convene at Mt. Pleasant Park at 11:00 a.m. and march  to Lafayette Park, in front of the White House. The rally will begin at 2:00 p.m. in front of the White House.

Sponsored: Workers United of Washington DC, DC Immigration Coalition, The National Day Laborer Organizing, Virginia Coalition of Latino Organizations (VACOLAO) and other Metropolitan DC Area Organizations.
